Apprenticeship for Healers...
Over the years people have asked, “How did you do it…how did you come to the place you are now.” In response to that, it seems right to offer to you that same process that I experienced. I can offer a context for you to grow into your own gifts and abilities over a period of time sufficiently long that allows you to become the healer you are meant to be.
My own training in counseling and Classics was in formal settings. While it is tempting to offer that approach, since most of us know what a “school” should look like, my more important training was unorthodox. In the early years there was no Jungian training for people who did not live in New York, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, or who could not afford to move to Zurich or London. The Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts was formed in 1974, and we were 13 analysts and 15 students. That is when I began the journey that has led me to this place.
I was a student of that maverick group who met in airports or at places like Ghost Ranch in New Mexico, who trusted that we could do the work in self-study under the tutelage of an analyst, and who approved of analysis by telephone. This experience was my first glimpse of what was possible if we didn't buy a building, offer up a standard approach to learning.
My healing work grew out of dreams I had during analytic training, as did my studies in esoteric philosophy and my focus on the life and works of W.B. Yeats. My own seeking formed the body of knowledge that is at the heart of who I am today.
I did have teachers, but the encounters were unorthodox. I had to travel considerable distances to work with several of my teachers. Because of travel costs, my actual number of contact hours with a teacher was limited. Between physical meetings, we met by phone or letter, and my teachers acted mostly in a supervisory capacity, trusting my own ability to direct my studies. All of my teachers, but notably David Hart and Patricia Xzandrya Settles, trusted that if they gave me an issue or topic to work on, I would work with the issue or topic until I had solutions, and then put what I had learned into practice.
So I offer to you what worked for me. I can give you a map and a context. You have to develop the discipline to spend the time, to develop the materials to the best of your ability. Sitting in a classroom with me might actually defeat the purpose of true learning, since you might think I have given you everything you need to know.
Therefore what I offer is an apprenticeship of three years of study, each year inaugurated by a specific energy healing modality, followed by supervision with me, a minimum of 1 hour per month for 12 months. Twelve months' study with supervision gives you time to mature with the material. At the end of each year you must write a paper and present a case.
The students who are suitable for this form of study need to be self-starters, be interested in learning and following lines of study, be willing to begin formulating a body of work representative of your specific interests. You can be a beginner and stick to the basics. Or, if you are advanced, I will expect you to seek out sources on the level you need to supplement the basic platform that I will expect everyone to use as the basis for our work.
You must set a course of regular work and on-going practice each month to make the most out of supervised study. You can't cram. This is a life style, not a curriculum of classes you can speed through. The only competitor is you yourself. Only you and I will know if you are doing anything. And there are no excuses with your own conscience.
Major Course: Heru-IB™ Reiki $500 plus $50 for books and administration.
Support Course: A minimum of 12 supervisory appointments, one per month, for one year. Over the year you will self-study Psychic Self Defense, Anatomy and Care of the Aura and Subtle Bodies, the Nature, Practice, and Ethics of Healing. Supervision can be in person or by phone.
Monthly fee: $110.
Each Month of first year:
- Give yourself Reiki treatments and practice good psychic self-defense, good care and maintenance of your subtle bodies and aura.
- Develop a context for healing others according to the ethics of your primary modality, and within the limits of that modality.
- Give Reiki treatments and keep a record so you will know what happened and what questions might you have concerning that.
- Study/read materials related to the course materials and to your special interests.
- Prepare for your session with me.
- Keep a journal. You will need it to be able to track your progress and changes over the three-year period of this work.
- In the 12th session give me a small paper on what you have learned and one written case of your interest.
End of year One Certificate: Heru-IB™ Healer I
Major Course: Heru-IB™ RE
Cost: $600 plus $50 books and administration fee.
Class is a full spectrum light modality and there are three initiations to the Goddesses Ma'at, Hathor, Sekhmet, one initiation to the visible light, RE, and one initiation to the invisible light, Amun. You will be attuned with symbols for working with the five elements, learn the healing ritual itself, the use of the breath in energy work, and the use of visualization with the clients.
Support Course: A minimum of 12 supervisory appointments, one per month, for one year. Over the year you will study the History of Healing in the Ancient Western Tradition, the Anatomy and Care of the Soul/ Light Body, Healing Techniques of the Ancient World, including Shamanistic/ Magical Practices of Greece and Egypt, Dream Incubation and the Use of Ritual. Attending Death and Rebirth and the Use of Energy/ Ritual to Ease Death/ Rebirth. Supervision can be in person or by phone.
Monthly fee, $110.
Each Month of 2nd Year:
- Give yourself FSL treatments, attend to the care of your subtle bodies, do your breath work, etc.
- Practice the 5 Initiations to develop your healing energies and gifts.
- Keep a dream record of incubated dreams. Practice naming the dream or bodily issues and then ritually interacting with them.
- Give others FSL treatments and keep a record of questions.
- Begin to take on the teaching aspect of a healer by working with your clients to become conscious concerning their symptoms, asking them to name, interact with, take responsibility for self healing of symptoms.
- Study/ read in the area of your special interest.
- Keep a journal. You will need it to track your progress and to look back at where you began when you started this journey.
- In the 12th month give me a paper about what you have learned about full-spectrum light, and a prepared case reflecting your interests.
End of year 2: Heru-IB™ Healer II
Major Course: Heru-IB™ Nut
Cost: $600 plus $50 books and Administration fee.
Working with the Tree of Life, navigating its 4 Realms through the use of God-names, Archangel Names, Angelic and Master energies, and the Planetary energies. Working with the Astral Realm and the clearance of the Astral using ritual and the names and energy/light frequencies of the 4 Realms.
Support Course: A minimum of 12 supervisory appointments, one per month, for one year. Study of the Tree of Life, and Esoteric Principles of Healing; Study of Past Lives and influences of the past on the Etheric body; Planetary Influences and use of basic Astrology. Supervision can be in person or by phone.
Monthly fee: $110.
Each Month of the 3rd Year:
- Give yourself a Tree of Life full treatment at least once a week.
- Study the effects of various God names, Archangel and Angelic or Master frequencies on you and your well-being.
- Learn to use an ephemeris and track moon phases and basic transits, and learn how to work with the angles of the astrology chart.
- Based on the Tree of Life, practice basic meditation on the Three Pillars of the Tree of Life.
- Give Tree of Life treatments and keep a record of what effects and phenomena occurred.
- Teach basic psychic self-defense to clients and help them to clear the astral themselves, to elevate their vibration and keep it at a level of optimum health.
- By 12th month have written a short thesis describing your journey through the three years, examining who you have become and what you have learned. This is why you needed those journals!
